Click here 8 November 2025 | Issue 329 Climate change and oxen with farmer in Ethiopia. @WHO Tuesday, 11 November Embargoed WHO Press Conference ahead of the launch of the 2025 Global Tuberculosis Report WHO will hold an embargoed global virtual press conference on 11 November to launch the 2025 Global Tuberculosis Report. The report is embargoed until Wednesday, 12 November, 15:30 CET/14:30 GMT, where it will be officially launched by WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Date: Tuesday, 11 November 2025 An embargoed copy of the report will be available from Monday afternoon on under reddys@who.int 10-14 November The 48th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC48) will be held physically at FAO headquarters, (Plenary Hall), in Rome, Italy from 10 to 14 November 2025. FAO and WHO will issue jointly a media advisory before the meeting. During the meeting, FAO and WHO will publish the blurbs on Codex texts (i.e. real-time summaries of key decisions) “as it happens” on both the FAO and WHO websites. 12-13 November Inaugural meeting of the WHO Disability Health Equity NetworkWHO will hold the inaugural meeting of the Disability Health Equity Network on 12–13 November in Geneva. The Network, launched under the WHO Disability Health Equity Initiative, unites 147 members to advance inclusive health systems. The opening session (12 November, 9:00–10:30 CET) will stream live on WHO’s YouTube channel. Over 1.3 billion people globally have a disability, with many experiencing premature mortality and higher disease risks. For more information: https://www.who.int/news-room/events/detail/2025/11/12/default-calendar/inaugural-meeting-of-the-who-disability-health-equity-network Thursday, 13 November Opening WHO FCTC COP and MOP virtual press conference - 15:00 CET Representatives from Parties will meet in Geneva over the next two weeks to discuss tobacco control measures under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) and the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products. The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the governing body of the WHO FCTC and its eleventh session will be held in Geneva on 17-22 November 2025. The Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products (Protocol) is the governing body of the Protocol. The fourth session of the MOP will take place in Geneva from 24-26 November 2025. Speakers during the press conference will share what will be expected during the COP and MOP and key media moments. Friday, 14 November World Diabetes Day On World Diabetes Day 2025, WHO is launching its first-ever global guidelines for managing diabetes during pregnancy. This release, aligning with the year's theme "Diabetes across life stages," provides a critical roadmap to ensure healthier outcomes for the 21 million women affected annually. Saturday, 15 November World Prematurity Day 2025This year’s theme echoes WHO’s Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures campaign. It reminds us that every child deserves a fair chance at life, starting from their very first moments. A strong start isn’t just about survival – it’s about honouring the promise of every tiny life. It’s about giving these babies the chance not only to survive but to thrive and one day, transform the world. 10-21 November WHO at COP30 The World Health Organization will play a central role at COP30, taking place 10–21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil, to advance the global agenda linking climate and health. A key moment will be Health Day on 13 November, where ministers and leaders will convene for a high-level Ministerial Health Plenary to adopt the Belém Health Action Plan, followed by a high level Ministerial round-table on accelerating support and implementation. Building up on Health Day, WHO and Brazil will also launch two major reports providing evidence and guidance for building climate-resilient, equitable and low-carbon health systems worldwide. In addition, WHO will host the Health Pavilion with partners, convening experts, civil society and frontline voices, and showcasing solutions that place health at the centre of climate action.
