Jan. 8, 2021 | Today's news and insights for transport leaders Note from the editor Looking at the regulatory landscape for 2021 (which you can read about here), the Department of Transportation and FMCSA are likely to pick back up some Obama-era projects, as well as continue some developed under DOT Secretary Elaine Chao.
Chao said the mob attack on the Capitol building Wednesday prompted her to resign, effective Monday. Increased flexibility for the trucking industry will be part of her DOT legacy.
Transport Dive and I are based in Washington, D.C., and we look forward to seeing how public policy unfolds this year. 2021 has begun chaotically, in that regard, but we'll be here to bring you the insight, whatever may occur next.
