Note from the editor

How are you? No, really. Beyond the pleasantries, how are you doing today?

Chatting with IT executives lately, conversations start by commiserating over the "pandemic wall." The wall describes a breaking point — from grief, isolation, restlessness or all of the above — where keeping up with even the smallest responsibilities feels exhausting.

The frustrations vary, from missing band practice to technical outages, but for all, it's been hard. As they navigate their own exasperation, many executives are still figuring out how they can step up to support teams in an authentic, meaningful way.

Encouraging time off, even in a virtual environment, helps, but what are other IT leaders doing to help employees overcome the wall? And how are you preventing yourself from succumbing to burnout? Send your best advice to kmalone@industrydive.com.

Stay well,
