Note from the editor

Two weeks into hurricane season, the Atlantic has seen two named storms: Ana and Bill. Fortunately, neither caused much damage, but the 2021 storm season is just beginning to stretch its legs.

As the ocean temperature warms over the summer, the storms may intensify. It's a risk logistics and transport professionals contend with each year, but it has grown more severe due to climate change.

I see the responses to the risks falling into two main buckets: Which one do you focus on? Is one more important than the other? Let me know what you think, and check out the stories below from our seven-part series that explores ways to plan for and manage climate risks.
