Hello from sunny San Antonio, Texas. I spoke to Corcentric's Fleet Maintenance meeting on Thursday, and the topic was infrastructure.
The Senate passed a $1 trillion infrastructure bill in August, with $110 billion or so marked for roads and bridges. Corcentric's attendees were interested in how soon that money would arrive, and one even asked me how much of it will be frittered away on bureaucracy, instead of actual pavement, concrete and labor.
But attendees — many from fleets and suppliers — were also curious about what federal and state governments can do for the grid, to make sure the growing number of electric trucks have enough affordable power to charge. That could be a much bigger challenge than fixing the road network, and that's saying a lot. Check out the collection of stories below for more on the grid.

Political winds and consumer tastes favor a change in how trucks are fueled. The question is whether OEMs, fleets and infrastructure are ready for the change.
