We are clarifying remarks WHO made to the media on 6 August indicating that at least 40 athletes had tested positive for COVID-19. We apologize for the confusion. WHO has been working closely with the International Olympic Committee and the Government of France to protect the health and well-being of the 10,714 athletes, as well as spectators, during the Games.
