This year’s campaign hopes to increase public awareness of Chagas disease and secure greater funding for early diagnosis and comprehensive follow-up care initiatives. Chagas disease predominantly affects impoverished populations in Latin America, but is increasingly spreading across continents. With 7 million infections globally and significant mortality rates, it poses a substantial public health threat. An estimated 10 000 people die from Chagas disease every year, and over 100 million people are at risk of acquiring the disease. The Forum provides youth with opportunities to discuss concrete actions and commitments to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
