Global press conference on the outcomes of the 78th World Health Assembly and related health issues When: On Tuesday, 27 May 2025 following the closure of the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78) (expected at 17.00 CEST -- PLEASE STAND BY FOR SHORT-NOTICE UPDATES) Format: Hybrid, in-person for the UN Geneva correspondents and online for global media Where: WHO HQ, Geneva, Switzerland, and online The press conference will mark the closing of the historic World Health Assembly, which has adopted a landmark WHO Pandemic Agreement to make the world more equitable and safer from future pandemics; strengthened sustainable financing for WHO by agreeing an additional 20% increase in membership fees (assessed contributions) and raising at lease US$170 million in voluntary pledges; and advanced global health by addressing issues such as cervical cancer, rare diseases, lung health, skin diseases, traditional medicine, health financing and more.
