Credit: © WHO / Loan Tran 13 - 17 July WHO at the 13th International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference on HIV Science WHO will participate in the 13th International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference on HIV Science, taking place in Kigali, Rwanda and online, from 13 - 17 July 2025. WHO has a prominent presence throughout IAS 2025 – from the opening ceremony and plenary sessions to community engagement with people living with or affected by HIV. At this year’s conference, WHO will showcase major new guidelines and normative work across HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment, care and service delivery. 14 – 23 JulyWHO at the High-Level Political Forum 2025The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will be convened in New York from 14-23 July, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. The theme of the HLPF is “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind.” Tuesday, 15 July WHO/UNICEF estimates on national child immunization coverage On 15 July, WHO and UNICEF will release the latest Estimates of National Immunization Coverage (WUENIC) -– the world’s largest and most comprehensive dataset on childhood immunization trends for vaccinations against 14 diseases across 195 countries. The region is a biodiversity hotspot for venomous snakes, and the intersection of human activities with snake habitats increases the risk of snakebites. The Regional Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Snakebite Envenoming (2022–2030) aims to reduce snakebite-related deaths and disabilities by 50% by 2030 through comprehensive strategies involving community engagement, improved access to treatment and enhanced surveillance.
