Thursday, 4 June 2026 MEDIA ADVISORY Virtual joint press conference on the launch of the Bundibugyo Virus Disease Continental Preparedness and Response Plan When: Friday, 5 June 2026 at 14:00 CEST Subject: The Bundibugyo Virus Disease Continental Preparedness and Response Plan, developed by WHO and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), provides a framework for coordinated preparedness, readiness and response across African Union Member States. The Plan emphasizes rapid detection, timely response, community-centred interventions, continuity of essential health services, protection of frontline health workers, and prevention of cross-border and international spread. Speakers will share key takeaways from the Plan and outline how WHO, Africa CDC, DRC and partners are working together to support affected and at-risk countries.
