Fast forward to Tuesday, and Salesforce is announcing its $27.7 billion acquisition of Slack, the collaboration market darling with a rabidly active user base.
For Salesforce, it means exposing its beefy digital toolset to more parts of the organization, in the clearest move yet to expand past the sales team.
For Slack, the acquisition reinforces its role as a critical channel for sales, marketing and customer service.
Going past the shock value and the headlines, customers can look to the Salesforce-Slack duo when trying to connect disparate parts of the organizations as efficiency becomes paramount for market survival.
